Wayne Pybus appointed new Director of Football

The former Ammies player returns to the club in a new role.

Wythenshawe Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Pybus as the club’s new Director of Football.

Wayne, who is from Wythenshawe and played for the Ammies in the past, will oversee all football operations in his new role at The Hollyhedge Park Community Stadium.

The club has over 60 teams in total, ranging from Under 7s to our men’s and women’s first team and veterans’ team.

Wayne is currently Head of Football at Loreto College, Head of the Independent Schools Football Association Under 17s and a member of their executive committee. He is tasked with developing their football both on and off the pitch.

Speaking on his return to the Ammies, Wayne said: “I’m honoured to join Wythenshawe as the club’s new Director of Football.

“It is an exciting time in the club’s history and I am hoping to contribute to the next phase of the club’s development.”

More about Wayne

Wayne has over 30 years’ experience in education, sports coaching/development and leading expeditions all over the world.

He has owned a sports education company called Trio Sports for over 30 years. Wayne and his staff have worked with a variety of people, both adults and children, on football development and delivery.

Wayne has worked with some leading establishments and people from Loreto College, professional football clubs, including Manchester City’s Under 11s to Under 23s, and their women’s team. Manchester Federation of Schools for EDSD children, USA Colorado Soccer, The Duke of Edinburgh Award and Cheshire’s Children Charity.

His vision is: “A good coach tells you where to look, but not what to see.”

“To develop the person as well as the player.”

“Creating pathways both on and off the pitch for life.”
